Deacons at Highland Park work with the ministerial staff to promote the spiritual growth and welfare of the congregation.

They visit church members in the hospital or at home, prepare and serve communion, and promote peace, harmony and the spirit of goodwill among the membership.

Deacons also provide orientation and support for new church members.

Highland Park has 18 men and women who serve as administrative church deacons. Administrative Deacon Board members serve a three year term with six members elected each year to replace the outgoing members.
